Scott fultz
Scott’s first exposure to yoga came in 1994 while working full-time as a musician. He began practicing yoga steadily in 2012 at Saratoga Springs Yoga, coming to the practice when chronic back pain and the noise inside his brain became unmanageable. Over time, dedicated practice helped him come out of pain. Managing the noise inside his brain is a work in progress of breathing, asana, and meditation.
In 2018, Scott had a bout with prostate cancer which became a catalyst for positive change in his life, leading him to 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Mandali with Keli Lalita and Heather Dacus. He is committed to helping others reap the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of the practices just as these practices have helped him.
Scott’s teaching is centered around strong, well-aligned asana and incorporates music (chanting/kirtan), breath-work (pranayama) and meditative practices to foster stilling of the mind and awakening of prana. He comes to yoga from a western, male body that has lived and has range-of-motion challenges. Using props and modifications to find comfortable and beneficial alignment is embedded in his approach to asana and an integral part of his teaching style.
Scott is an avid hiker (ADK 46er #10,464) and is married to Jeanette Fultz, experienced yoga and ecstatic dance teacher, who live in Saratoga Springs with their three children, two dogs, and three cats.
