JOCELYN FARRELL
After years of struggling with anxiety and depression, Jocelyn finally turned to yoga as a way to reduce stress and cultivate mindfulness. It quickly became an integral part of her life, bringing her back to her own sense of Self and reigniting her connection to Spirit. Jocelyn understands firsthand what a transformative journey yoga can be, and she wishes to inspire growth and healing in others by offering a nurturing environment for students to explore the intricacies of their practice, on and off the mat, and tune into the wisdom of the subtle body.
With a focus on pranayama (breath), mindfulness, and compassion, Jocelyn encourages her students to be curious about their thoughts, feelings, and reactions, and invites room for acceptance of the experience as it is. Her vinyasa flow style uses breath awareness to establish a steady connection to the body, and incorporates thoughtful sequencing which often starts slowly and builds from the ground up to create a powerful moving meditation. This, along with Jocelyn’s calm, supportive energy, empowers students to believe in their own worth, release limiting perceptions, and reconnect to the innate wisdom and grace that exists within each of us. Her approach to teaching is filled with intentions for the highest good of her students and she meets each person where they are, with equanimity and ease.
Jocelyn is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, trained by Gopi Kinnicutt in the traditions of Bhakti Yoga at Yoga Mandali in 2013. She has since studied under the influences of Ana Forrest, Coby Kozlowski, Carolyn Myss, and Edwin Bryant. In 2015 she received her Reiki I and II certification under the lineage of Dr. Usui, trained by Anne Cameron at the Ayurvedic Center of Vermont. She has also completed Nini Gridley’s Full Spectrum Healing Chakra series, and in 2017 she received her certificate in Mindful Self Compassion with Ann Saffi Biasetti. Off the mat, you will find her enjoying the outdoors, where she feels most connected to Spirit, or snuggled up with a good book or movie!
