Yin Yoga For The Subtle Body

This training is for yoga teachers and dedicated students who would like to further investigate the energetic benefits of Yin Yoga and the ways that Yin postures can be used to balance Qi throughout the body. In this training we will focus on the effect that Yin Yoga has on not just the physical body, but also on the energetic, mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational aspects of our being. Upon completion students will receive 20 Yoga Alliance CE hours in Yin Yoga.

Participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of Meridian Theory by delving more deeply into the energy channels

  • Study the organs related to those channels, including the holistic function and health of those organs

  • Deepen their understanding of Qi, including where it is housed in the body, how it moves through the body, and how specific yin postures can work to harmonize Qi

  • Learn to sequence classes that target specific energy channels

  • Study the way that the integration of yang asanas, restorative postures, mindfulness, and breathwork can support the harmonization of energy in our bodies

KELI LALITA REDDY, ERYT-500; Certified CE Provider; Columnist for Mantra Magazine and Thrive; Owner of Mantralogy Records; was first introduced to yoga at age seven by her mother, who studied with the disciples of Sri Rama Krishna at the Vivikananda Vedanta Vihar, an ashram in the foothills of the Catskill mountains. She has been teaching yoga asana for over 14 years, although her dedicated study of Bhakti Yoga began when she was still a teenager. Keli is a student of Ayurvedic Body Work at Kripalu and works with Edwin Bryant, PhD, translator of Yoga Sutras, and Professor of Hinduism at Rutgers University. Keli has lead and assisted retreats here in the US, in Costa Rica, and in India, including a retreat with Robert Thurman and Krishna das. Keli’s students describe her as, “filled with knowledge, love, compassion and joy.” Her teaching specialty is yoga philosophy, though she is well loved as a teacher of Yin Yoga and Vinyasa flow as well.

JAEL POLNAC, ERYT, YACEP

Jael has practiced yoga for over 20 years, originally finding it to be a useful way to decompress from her career as an environmental attorney in Washington, DC. Upon moving to Saratoga Springs in 2010, she became a dedicated student at Yoga Mandali. In 2011, her yoga practice took on a whole new meaning after a serious skiing injury and difficult rehabilitation. Instead of being a fun workout and way to release stress, yoga became integral to healing both her body and her spirit; a process which led her to pursue her yoga teaching certification at Yoga Mandali in 2016.

Jael has continued to educate herself in the healing and therapeutic aspects of yoga by completing certifications in Yin Yoga and Mindfulness with Sarah Powers; Traditional Chinese Medicine and Yin Yoga with Josh Summers; Yoga for Bone Health with Dr. Loren Fishman; Restorative Yoga (Levels 1 and 2) with Dr. Ann Saffi Biasetti; Yoga Sutra Study with Dr. Edwin Bryant; and Yoga for Posture Improvement with Julie Gudmestad, PT. In addition, she has studied Mindfulness Meditation, Ayurveda, Yoga Philosophy, and Writing
