"True Yoga is not about the shape of your body...
but about the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn't care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to truly be called yoga, its essence must be embodied."
Most of our classes are all, or mixed, levels. Our instructors are all well trained and adept at providing modifications for students based on who is in the class. Although, we do also offer a range of classes designed specifically for those who prefer a more gentle or slower paced class, and those who prefer more advanced classes as well.
ALL LEVELS: These classes are appropriate for all, beginners and advanced alike. Modifications of poses will be suggested for the beginner student and more advanced students will be encouraged to deepen their practice by trying different variations of postures.
LEVEL II: These classes offer more challenging sequences and show more variations. The class is designed for regular yoga practitioners or those with previous yoga experience. It is assumed that the student is familiar with the alignment of the fundamental poses, the sequence of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation), as well as backbends and inversions.*
LEVEL III: These classes are designed for experienced yoga students looking to challenge themselves with more vigorous postures including more advanced backbends, inversions and arm balances.*
* Please do not feel intimidated about coming to any level II or III class. Modifications of postures can always be made. At Yoga Mandali you will be encouraged to challenge yourself but you will never be forced into anything. Your practice is YOUR practice.
Most of our classes are based in the Vinyasa format, although we also offer Kripalu Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga. Please see our schedule to read descriptions of each individual class - just click on the title of the class.
