Anita (200-hr RYT) was drawn to yoga several years ago while living on the coast of Southern Mexico. She is a Registered Nurse and has worked in various roles in and out of the hospital setting, from Neonatal ICU to Charge Nurse to volunteering in Zambian slums with "Nurses For Africa."

After decades of working in the healthcare system, Anita felt that perhaps a health-promotional approach might be more beneficial than "chasing" illnesses after they've taken their toll on the body. Her teaching style provides her students the tools they need to maintain or achieve their optimal level of health, and to help overcome the negative effects of daily life in today's stressful environment.

Anita believes that Yoga is all about balance, on and off the mat. Her classes focus on body awareness, balancing movement with stillness, effort with ease. She gently brings her students to the edge of their comfort zones, where change occurs, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Anita draws from a widely varied pool of past teachers and brings their teachings to her own students. Gopi Kinnicutt and Karen Score (of Yoga Mandali) deserve extra thanks for their time and attention in helping Anita bring her practice to the point where it is today. She'd like to also thank Jane Bauer of Yoga Huatulco (Oaxaca, Mexico) for her inspiration and teachings at the start of her yogic journey.
